Alternative lenders are NOT private lenders. Often referred to as B-lenders, there is a growing market of alternative financing options for borrowers that don’t fit the criteria for banks or traditional financial institutions. This can often apply to clients with non-traditional income, unstable credit, or those unable to meet maximum debt-service ratios. Although interest rates can be slightly higher with these types of loans, they offer a midpoint and short-term solution between a bank-issued mortgage and a private lending solution.
